PhenolUsage:
Phenol is an important raw material for pesticide production, which can be used to produce insecticides such as carbendazim, parathion, and glyphosate, fungicides such as imidacloprid, triazolone, and benzofenapyr, herbicides such as 2,4-D and 2,4-D butyl ester, and rodenticides such as chlorpyrifos and bromochlorpyrifos. In addition, the alkylation of phenol produces alkylphenols such as nonylphenol, dinitrophenol, sec octylphenol, as well as polyarylphenols such as 2-methylbenzyl phenol and 2,2-dimethylbenzyl phenol, which are important intermediates for surfactants.
